Our patient management system – iaptus – is the UK’s leading system for psychological therapies used by over 200 mental health services across public, private and voluntary sectors. iaptus securely holds over 7 million patient records and is trusted by over 40,000 users in the UK and abroad. iaptus supports over 60% of NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services as well as children and young people’s mental health services such as community CAMHS, and Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in schools provided NHS trusts, local authorities, the independent sector and charities.
What is the MindTech Symposium 2022?
The MindTech symposium 2022 brings together leaders in clinical practice, patient experience, academic research and technology development to address the key challenges in building a stronger evidence-base to support the implementation of new technologies in mental healthcare.
What can we expect from the day’s agenda?
The day will kick off with a research showcase from NIHR MindTech MIC featuring studies presented by researchers at the University of Exeter and the University of Nottingham.
We’re particularly looking forward to hearing about the MRC Digital Youth Programme, chaired by Professor Ellen Townsend, Professor of Psychology at the University of Nottingham. The session will focus on collaboration, co-creation and co-production for improved mental health in young people.
In the afternoon there will be a keynote address from Professor Tim Kendall, National Clinical Director for Mental Health on the subject NHS England: Digital Mental Health Therapies in the NHS – a new way forward?. Professor Kendall will then join a panel for a debate about whether it is necessary to commission commercial and other non-NHS providers in order to deliver digital mental health services at scale.

How is Mayden exploring new frontiers for Digital Mental Health?
We are delighted to be presenting a poster at MindTech 2022 on the research project that Mayden is undertaking with the University of Bath to help improve understanding and management of demand and capacity within NHS IAPT services. Our aim is to develop analytical tools that will help IAPT services to summarise and model demand and capacity within IAPT pathways. The objective is to support mental health services to improve pathway efficiency, in order to treat patients more quickly. We envisage the major impacts of this project as improved access to psychological therapy services and better utilisation of IAPT resources, leading to reduced wait times, higher recovery rates and reduced patient dropout.
Phase 1
Aims to analyse historic service performance, patient wait times, dropout rates and identify the most common patient trajectories through the care pathway.
Phase 2
Aims to conduct analysis to understand how service delivery impacts patients.
Phase 3
Aims to develop digital pathway models of demand and capacity that use historic service performance to predict future capacity and support decision-making.
